It's currently 30 minutes before my Cinema Studies class & I'm hiding in the lab writing about flimsy stories. Having to do a presentation regarding one of our favourite films today, I found out a few interesting facts about James Cameron's "Avatar" that not many know. In fact, the husky's here to enlighten your sleepy mind about this exceptional movie!

More like trying to memorize my lines for later. Heh.

Starting about the technique used in this film, can you believe that the idea of this film was already out in 1995? For the sake of the audience's pleasure, James decided to wait until cinema technology was advanced enough to fulfill this movie's standards. Only 25% of the movie is created using traditional live performance on sets, while others are done in an entirely computer generated world (combining performance capture with virtual environments). By hearing so, we humans would usually expect pretty fake graphics as it's truly difficult to master CGI & all. Surprisingly, James & his staff beautifully brought everything into life!

Moving on to costume, there are actually more about the Na'Vi's skin than just simple differentiation. It is also to identify oneself's social standing & to cover their hmm-you-know-what-I-mean. Regarding the music aspect, James Horner, who is famous for his work in Titanic lead all soundtracks of various genres (majestic, ambience, war etc) to perfectly bring out feelings words can't even express. With all the exploration & scale models needed by the whole-hearted James Cameron, the film's budget rose up to $200 million USD, and I can say everything was worth paying for.

That's all I guess. I gotta rush to class now, have a great day!
